Cincinnati's Janele deadly on offense in 9-4 win against Evansville

Albert Janele was all over the ice for Cincinnati, as he tallied two goals in Cincinnati's 9-4 win over Evansville.

Janele's tallies came at 7:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cincinnati and 18:33 into the second to make the score 5-3 Cincinnati.

Cincinnati excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Cincinnati kept Evansville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Conkling made 26 saves on 35 shots. Cincinnati bested its season scoring average. Cincinnati averages 2.8 goals per game.

Cincinnati additionally got points from Hunter Schneider, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Brenden Williams, who also had one goal and one assist, and Rory Callihan, who also registered one goal and one assist. Cincinnati also had goals scored by Kyle Kinnaman, James Frantz, Adam Meister, and Arsenii Vashchuk, who each put in one. In addition, Cincinnati received assists from Trevor Veneklase, who had two and Justin Bioni, Darcy Robinson, Andrew Kraska, Nicholas Lupacchino, and Tyler Simon, who each chipped in one.

Evansville stifled Cincinnati's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Evansville was led by Brandon Rozema, who tallied two goals. Rozema scored the first of his two goals at 7:00 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Evansville. Zach Faith picked up the assist. Rozema's next tally made the score 2-2 with 9:33 left in the second period. Jon Grimm assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Evansville included Brandon Bornkamp and Mathieu Laforest, who scored one goal each. More assists for Evansville came via Brian Crink, Steven Rutherford, and Cedric Calhoun, who contributed one each.

Cincinnati's Tyler Geloneck stopped 19 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Cincinnati totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Cincinnati ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Andre Vanlew was ejected from the game. Evansville ended with 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Evansville, Nick Luke was ejected from the game.
