Hale's big game bests Euless in 6-1 Louisiana win

Louisiana's Evan Hale had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-1 win over Euless.

Hale beat Thomas Bailey with a shot 10:36 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Louisiana. Ian Hale picked up the assist. Hale dished an assist on Hale's goal that made the score 4-1 Louisiana at 13:14 into the second period. He added another helper on Tommy Margolis's goal that made the score 6-1 Louisiana at 12:32 into the third period.

Louisiana's Logan Quebedeaux was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 34 saves and let only one puck past him. Quebedeaux certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.62 entering the contest.

Euless' power play was ineffective against Louisiana's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Louisiana forced Euless' netminders to work in net, finishing with 31 shots and forcing 25 saves. Bailey made 23 stops and Joshua Beatty made two. Louisiana found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Louisiana averages 2.4 goals per contest. Louisiana could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Louisiana additionally got points from Margolis, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Hale, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Louisiana included Miko Siren, Eric Eaton, and Davis VanGemerden, who scored one goal each. More assists for Louisiana came via Jacob Istre, who had two and Eric Verdi, Kolton Huff, Charles Credeur, Mitch Dolese, and Jeremy Brown, who contributed one each.

Euless was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Euless surpassed its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Euless forced Louisiana goalie Quebedeaux to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Euless was led by Benjamin Kraus, who scored the team's only goal. Kraus scored on the power play 11:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A roughing penalty on Eaton had put Euless on the power play. Triston Wilson provided the assist.

Louisiana registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
