Nashville survives Atlanta comeback, wins 5-4

Atlanta tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Nashville would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

Nashville made the score 5-2 on a goal by Nathan Rieman at 19:14 in the second period, and Atlanta got as close as 5-4 when Arturas Laukaitis scored 11:49 into the third period.

Josh Hill had a great game for Nashville, netting two goals. Hill scored at 1:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nashville and again while 16:27 into the second to make the score 4-2 Nashville.

Atlanta was unable to stop Nashville from sending pucks towards the net, and Nashville eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Nashville found itself short handed often, totaling 30 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

Nashville additionally got points from Max Dorfman, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Trent Kulczyk, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Nashville received assists from Nicholas Redmon, who had two and Peter Cabala, Riley McCann, William Garrity, Conor Cunningham, and Colton Anderson, who contributed one each.

Atlanta's offense rang up 33 shots on Nashville's net. Atlanta's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Atlanta could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Atlanta also got points from Philip Pugliese, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Atlanta also had goals scored by Riley Hummitsch and Jack Cleaver, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Atlanta were Jesse Brown and Ross Bartlett, who each chipped in one.

Ricky Gonzalez made 29 saves for Nashville on 33 shots. Nashville registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Corey Boettcher recorded 30 saves for Atlanta.
