Samuel Woznicki had a standout game with 25 saves, and West Michigan beat Toledo 2-1.

Toledo's power play was ineffective against West Michigan's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

West Michigan was paced by Tyler McMahon, who finished with one goal. McMahon scored on the power play 13:15 into the third period to make the score 2-1 West Michigan. A tripping penalty on Isaiah Crawford had put West Michigan on the power play. Corey Siwula picked up the assist.

West Michigan forced Toledo goalie Cody Gibson to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Davis Hudson also scored for West Michigan. Other players who recorded assists for West Michigan were Christian Amend, who had one and Dakota Ulmer, who had two.

Toledo could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Toledo puts an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game.

Toledo was led by Tyler Zalecki, who scored the team's only goal. Zalecki scored on the power play 3:31 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Toledo had gotten the advantage when West Michigan's TJ Krajewski was sent off for tripping. Nick Papandrea assisted on the tally.

West Michigan totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Cody Gibson made 31 saves for Toledo on 33 shots. Toledo incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
