Early goals doom Euless, falls to Atlanta, 8-3

Atlanta opened up a seven-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to an 8-3 win over Euless.

Steve MacIver was a peerless playmaker for Atlanta, as he dished out four to beat Euless,.

Atlanta forced Euless' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 82 shots and forcing 74 saves. Joshua Beatty made 69 stops and Everett Yasinski made five. Atlanta surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Atlanta averages 5.6 goals per game.

Atlanta also had goals scored by Evan Camba, Alex Johanson, and Ross Bartlett, who scored two goals each and Andrew Cooley and Drake Cartwright, who each put in one. More assists for Atlanta came via Drew Kelly, Jack Cleaver, Jesse Brown, and Colin OConnor, who each chipped in one and Riley Hummitsch, Kyle Rimbach, Philip Pugliese, and Arturas Laukaitis, who contributed two each.

Euless was led by Benjamin Kraus, who grabbed two goals. Kraus scored the first of his two goals short handed at 5:22 into the second period to make the score 7-1 Atlanta. Euless played down a man on Axel Olson's tripping. Kraus' next tally short handed made the score 7-2 Atlanta with 13:12 left in the second period. Euless found itself down a man on Brandon Wade's high sticking. Euless also got a goal from Triston Wilson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Euless were Wyatt Gentry, who had one.

Corey Boettcher made 16 saves for Atlanta on 19 shots. Atlanta incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Euless incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
