West Michigan got the win behind a great game by Dakota Ulmer, who had two goals and two assists. Ulmer scored the first of his two goals at 47 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 West Michigan. Curtis Carlson provided the assist. Ulmer's next tally made the score 2-0 West Michigan with 13:55 left in the first period. West Michigan earned a power play opportunity when Kyle Pfaffinger was put in the box for holding. Others who scored for Wooster included Will Schober and Nick Tobey, who each put in one. More assists for Wooster came via Mike Zenone, Tyler Houmard, and Joe Morgan, who each chipped in one.

Samuel Woznicki recorded 20 saves for West Michigan. West Michigan incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Wooster's Morgan stopped 25 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Wooster incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
