Metro's Mathias Tellstrom had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 11-0 win over Southern Tier.

Tellstrom's tallies came on the power play at 17:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro and 8:49 into the third to make the score 5-0 Metro.

Metro racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Metro surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. Metro forced Southern Tier's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 72 shots and forcing 61 saves. Ryan Pascarella made 56 stops and Timothy OSullivan made five. Kevin Shand also scored for Metro. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Michael Tratar, who had four, Stefan Boskovic, Jacob Rutkoske, and Jason Recchia, who each chipped in one, and Cam Schwartz, Devin Kelly, and Chas Distelrath, who contributed two each.

Southern Tier was often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and two majors for 50 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 22.0 minutes per game Southern Tier had been spending in the box. Southern Tier could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Kameron Limburg rejected 18 shots on goal for Metro. Metro registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Southern Tier ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jacob Tota was ejected from the game.
