Bozeman hangs on, beats Great Falls 2-1

Bozeman beat Great Falls, 2-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

A goal 1:18 into the first period by Gunnar Mogck proved to be the game winner, and powered Bozeman to the victory. Kegan Couture provided the assist.

Great Falls was stymied by Bozeman's netminder Stephen Frank, who stopped 49 shots during the victory. Frank certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.27 entering the contest.

Bozeman was sparked by AJ ODell, who racked up one goal. ODell scored 11:37 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Bozeman. Steven Nisbet picked up the assist.

Bozeman excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

In addition, Bozeman received assists from Elliott Hopkins and Dylan Michaud, who contributed one each.

Great Falls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Bozeman power plays. Great Falls did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Great Falls puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Great Falls' offense rang up 50 shots on Bozeman's net.

Great Falls was led by Ricards Bernhards, who scored the team's only goal. Bernhards scored 13:35 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Bozeman. Tanner Congdon assisted on the tally.
