Cincinnati blows out Evansville, 5-2

Cincinnati had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over Evansville.

Hunter Schneider was all over the ice for Cincinnati, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Schneider scored the first of his two goals at 48 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cincinnati. Albert Janele assisted on the tally. Schneider's next tally made the score 4-0 Cincinnati with 15:10 left in the third period. Cincinnati had gotten the advantage when Evansville's Ben Baker was sent off for roughing. Arsenii Vashchuk picked up the assist.

Cincinnati forced Evansville goalie Adam Conkling to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Cincinnati's goal total was higher than its season average. Cincinnati has scored at the pace of 2.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

Cincinnati also got points from Janele, who also registered one goal and two assists. Cincinnati also had goals scored by Marc Anderson and Jacob Friedman, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Cincinnati were Brenden Williams, Kyle Kinnaman, and Cobin Sanborn, who contributed one each.

Evansville kept Cincinnati's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Geloneck made 31 saves on 33 shots.

Evansville was led by Brandon Rozema, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Rozema scored on the power play 18:36 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Cincinnati. Evansville earned a power play opportunity when Williams was put in the box for roughing. William Bonser assisted on the tally. Nick Luke also scored for Evansville. In addition, Evansville received assists from Zach Faith, who had one.

Cincinnati incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Conkling rejected 31 shots on goal for Evansville. Evansville incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
