Nashville wins tough contest against Peoria, 3-2

The game between Nashville and Peoria was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Nashville emerged with a 3-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Kyle Van Wyk's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Nashville was led by Van Wyk, who grabbed one goal. Van Wyk scored 5:46 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Nashville. Brock James picked up the assist.

Nashville also got points from Michael Redmon, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Nashville also got a goal from Max Dorfman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nashville were Peter Cabala, Riley McCann, Josh Hill, and Colton Anderson, who contributed one each.

Peoria put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nashville to score on any of its four power plays. Peoria did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Peoria puts an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game.

Peoria was helped by Thomas Kolaz, who registered one goal. Kolaz scored short handed 5:04 into the third period to make the score 2-2. A roughing call on Jack Power Wayvon put Peoria on the penalty kill. Aaron Siegrist provided the assist. Andrej Buchko also scored for Peoria.

Ricky Gonzalez made 19 saves for Nashville on 21 shots. Nashville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nic Piech recorded 24 saves for Peoria. Peoria incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
