Peoria rips Cincinnati, 7-2

Peoria had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over Cincinnati.

Jason Hoehn had two goals and one assist to lead Peoria. Hoehn scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 19:41 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Peoria. Peoria had taken the advantage when Cincinnati's Rory Callihan got sent off for tripping. Levi Armstrong assisted on the tally. Hoehn's next tally on the power play made the score 6-0 Peoria with 5:42 left in the second period. Peoria earned a power play opportunity when Brenden Williams was put in the box for cross checking. Jack Power Wayvon provided the assist.

Peoria outdid its season average for goals scored. Peoria averages 4.6 goals per game. Peoria cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on five chances.

Peoria additionally got points from Chance Homerin, who also registered one goal and one assist, Andrej Buchko, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, and Austin Wisely, who also had one goal and two assists. Mitchell Macek also scored for Peoria. In addition, Peoria received assists from Anthony Iacullo, who had two and Dane Federighi, Zach Cox, Aaron Siegrist, and Nathan Marlow, who each chipped in one.

Nic Piech made 20 saves for Peoria on 22 shots. Peoria incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tyler Geloneck took the loss and made 15 saves before being replaced by Daniel Dolliver who made seven saves. Cincinnati incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
