Huge game by Adnell boosts Sugar Land over Euless, 10-0

Sugar Land's Jonathan Adnell had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 10-0 win over Euless.

Adnell scored 6:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sugar Land. Keith Allen provided the assist. Adnell dished an assist on Zac McKenna's goal that made the score 4-0 Sugar Land at 44 seconds into the second period. He then added assists on Matt DeNure's goal at 11:14 into the third and on Kyle Hooper's goal at 14:33 into the third.

Euless' power play was ineffective against Sugar Land's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Sugar Land racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and one major for 65 minutes in penalty time. Sugar Land surpassed its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. Sugar Land forced Euless' goaltenders to work without much rest, totaling 32 shots and forcing 22 saves. Thomas Bailey made seven stops and Everett Yasinski made 15. Sugar Land excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in nine chances. Sugar Land outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, Sugar Land averages 3.6 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Sugar Land additionally got points from McKenna, who also had two goals and one assist, Alex Norwinski, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and DeNure, who also registered one goal and one assist. Sugar Land also had goals scored by Chris Conlin, who had two and Matt Cozzan and Frank Muscarella, who scored one goal each. More assists for Sugar Land came via Samuel Zeiders, who had three, Michael Crowley and Joseph Brochu, who contributed one each, and Griffin Eatchel, Trevor Wolf, and Luca Valenza, who each chipped in two.

Euless forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 11 minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. Euless had been averaging 17.0 minutes in penalties per game. Euless could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Euless averages 2.2 goals per game.

Ryan OToole made 22 saves for Sugar Land on 22 shots. Sugar Land registered two goals on 11 power play opportunities.
