Bozeman pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Billings on a clutch goal by AJ ODell.

Although Bozeman was up by as many as three goals in the second period, Billings kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. Billings pulled to within 3-2 on a goal by Chris Nicolai at 11:23 in the third period.

Bozeman's penalty kill excelled, as Bozeman gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Bozeman was often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and two majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. Bozeman surpassed its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. Bozeman stifled Billings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Bozeman also got points from Elliott Hopkins, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Steven Nisbet, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Bozeman also got a goal from Dalton Rickard as well. Other players who recorded assists for Bozeman were Nicholas Thompson, who had two and Bryce Meckes, Daniel Liberko, and Casey Gobel, who contributed one each.

Connor Melton also scored for Billings. More assists for Billings came via Tristan Henrichs, who had three and Kenneth Miller and Wolfgang Davis, who each chipped in one.

Bozeman's Stephen Frank stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Bozeman registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For Bozeman, Zach Frasier was ejected from the game. Brandon Brown made 26 saves for Billings on 30 shots. Billings ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Billings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cameron Birklid was ejected from the game.
