Peoria tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Wisconsin held on for a 6-5 victory. Wisconsin made the score 6-3 on a goal by Taylor Dickert at 7:47 in the second period, and Peoria got as close as 6-5 when Lorenzo Santiago scored 2:12 into the third period. Wisconsin was effective with a man advantage, and put in four goals while on the power play. Wisconsin was led by Peter Henderson, who registered three goals and two assists. Wisconsin additionally got points from Nathan Viberg, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Russel Barone, who also had one goal and three assists. In addition, Wisconsin received assists from Clayton Brown, who had two and Thomas Hanson and Ben Ratner, who each chipped in one. Peoria racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and one major for 49 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 24.0 minutes per game Peoria had been spending in the box. Peoria forced Wisconsin goalie Max McConnell to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Peoria was led by Anthony Iacullo, who tallied two goals. Iacullo scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:45 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Peoria had gotten the advantage when Wisconsin's Jake McNamara was sent off for checking from behind.
