Matt Wolter had two goals and one assist to lead La Crosse to an 8-1 victory over Chicago.

Wolter found the back of the net 18:29 into the second period to make the score 3-1 La Crosse and again while short handed 10 seconds into the third to make the score 4-1 La Crosse.

La Crosse forced Chicago goalie Ryall Purdy to work between the pipes, taking 64 shots. La Crosse surpassed its usual scoring output this season. La Crosse averages 3.7 goals per game. The defensemen of La Crosse were also effective in Chicago's zone, and came away with three goals.

La Crosse also got points from Ben Johnson, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Jared Bromberg, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, Taylor Trapp, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Kadin Machusak, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. La Crosse also got a goal from Daylon De Souza as well. In addition, La Crosse received assists from Sam Wenner and Reid Brown, who each chipped in one and Dylan Goggin and Ben Henderson, who contributed two each.

Chicago did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 13 saves.

Chicago was led by Graham Walsh, who scored the team's only goal. Walsh scored 15 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chicago. Luke Borth assisted on the tally.

La Crosse's Will Graves stopped 13 shots out of the 14 that he faced. La Crosse incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Purdy rejected 56 shots on goal for Chicago. Chicago totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Chicago ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Walsh was ejected from the game.
