Galloway's goals lift Texas to 3-1 victory over Sugar Land

Texas relied on the scoring touch of Kyle Galloway, who netted two goals, to beat Sugar Land, 3-1.

Galloway scored on the power play at 6:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Texas and again while 20:00 into the third to make the score 3-1 Texas.

Texas was often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and two majors for 60 minutes in penalty time. Texas surpassed its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game. Texas stifled Sugar Land's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Texas also got a goal from Ryan Dunner as well. More assists for Texas came via Bryan Whelan and George Hansen, who contributed two each.

Sugar Land could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Sugar Land puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game.

Sugar Land was led by Jake Garman, who scored the team's only goal. Garman scored 17:18 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matt DeNure picked up the assist.

Brandon Perrone recorded 16 saves for Texas. Texas registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For Texas, Chase Deacon and Dunner were ejected from the contest. Sugar Land's Kevin Mackey stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Sugar Land incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
