Toledo downs Pittsburgh, 5-1

Nick Nappi had one point to lead Toledo to a 5-1 victory over Pittsburgh.

Toledo forced Pittsburgh's goalies to work all game long, ripping 41 shots and forcing 36 saves. Jacob Stack made 28 stops and Adam Provaznik made eight. Toledo's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Pittsburgh power plays.

Toledo additionally got points from Tyler Zalecki, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Josh Somers, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Toledo included Ricky Kwapich and Tristin Snyder, who scored one goal each. In addition, Toledo received assists from Ben Hamilton, who had one and David Bogart, Isaiah Crawford, and Austin Turner, who contributed two each.

Pittsburgh was led by Brian Dee, who scored the team's only goal. Dee scored 4:33 into the second period to make the score 1-1. James Unger picked up the assist.

Toledo's Cody Gibson stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Toledo incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Pittsburgh incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
