Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as La Crosse defeated Rochester in a shootout 1-0 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.La Crosse was boosted by Will Graves, who turned in a shutout with 27 saves. Graves managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.9 prior to the game. La Crosse stifled Rochester's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. La Crosse was held below its usual level of production. La Crosse averages 3.7 goals per game. La Crosse's defensive play was more effective than usual against Rochester.
