Dunn's hat trick boosts Point Mallard over Nashville, 4-1

Justin Dunn lifted Point Mallard to a 4-1 victory with a hat trick against Nashville.

Dunn got on the scoresheet 1:17 into the second period. He then added goals at 5:07 into the third and at 19:07 into the third.

Point Mallard was led by goalie Cooper Seedott, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Seedott will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.87.

Point Mallard put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nashville to score on any of its three power plays.

Point Mallard also got points from Grant Dukus, who also had one goal and two assists. In addition, Point Mallard received assists from Matt Darnell, who had two.

Nashville managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Nashville finished below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. Nashville could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Nashville puts an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. Nashville's offense rang up 32 shots on Point Mallard's net.

Nashville was led by Logan Orem, who scored the team's only goal. Orem scored 17:36 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Josh Hill picked up the assist.

Point Mallard incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Nicholas Ottenbacher recorded 20 saves for Nashville.
