Wooster penalty kill dominates in 4-1 defeat of West Michigan

West Michigan failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Wooster shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-1.

Wooster was led by Mike Ragone, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Ragone scored 8:12 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Wooster. Will Schober picked up the assist.

Wooster excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

Wooster additionally got points from Mike Zenone, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Wooster also had goals scored by Nick Tobey and Jake Greathouse, who each put in one. More assists for Wooster came via Brad Sneed, Tyler Crites, Tyler Groth, Jason Watts, and Andy Romani, who each chipped in one.

West Michigan did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. West Michigan averages 3.7 goals per game.

West Michigan was led by Davis Hudson, who scored the team's only goal. Hudson scored 5:46 into the second period to make the score 1-0 West Michigan. Ryan Price provided the assist.

Joe Morgan made 21 saves for Wooster on 22 shots. Wooster incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. West Michigan's Samuel Woznicki stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. West Michigan incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
