Nick Paulson had one goal and three assists to lead Rochester to a 4-1 victory over Chicago. Paulson got on the board by slotting home a goal 11:13 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Rochester. Trey McMillen assisted on the tally. Paulson dished an assist on Hunter Heightland's goal that made the score 1-0 Rochester at 6:26 into the second period. He then added assists on Dawson Quint's goal at 13:37 into the third and on McMillen's goal at 18:17 into the third.Rochester was led by goalie Zach Mains, who finished with 34 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Mains will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 4.04. Rochester's penalty kill excelled, as Rochester gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays. Rochester's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and two majors for 38 minutes in penalty time. Rochester surpassed its season average of 31.0 penalty minutes per game. Rochester stifled Chicago's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Chicago was unable to stop Rochester from sending pucks towards the net, and Rochester eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Rochester also got points from Heightland, who also registered one goal and one assist and McMillen, who also racked up one goal and two assists. In addition, Rochester received assists from Dylan Boysen, who had one. Chicago stifled Rochester's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Chicago's offense rang up 35 shots on Rochester's net. Chicago was led by Eric Arrigo, who scored the team's only goal. Arrigo scored 5:23 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Rochester. Vaughn Clouston picked up the assist. Rochester registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. Sergey Markelov made 30 saves for Chicago on 33 shots. Chicago ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
