Rozema's goals lift Evansville to 7-4 victory over Point Mallard

Evansville relied on the scoring touch of Brandon Rozema, who netted two goals, to beat Point Mallard, 7-4.

Rozema's tallies came at 1:28 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Evansville and 3:14 into the third to make the score 5-4 Evansville.

Evansville forced Point Mallard's goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 45 shots and forcing 38 saves. Josh Martin made 36 stops and Cooper Seedott made two. Evansville bested its season scoring average. Evansville averages 2.4 goals per game.

Evansville also got points from Jon Grimm, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Michael Kelley, who also had one goal and two assists, and Mathieu Laforest, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Evansville included Brandon Bornkamp and William Bonser, who each put in one. In addition, Evansville received assists from Brian Crink, who had two and Steven Rutherford, Austin Hayden, and Ian Blaeser, who each chipped in one.

Point Mallard's offense rang up 49 shots on Evansville's net.

Point Mallard was helped by Jake Champaign, who finished with one goal. Champaign scored 17:54 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Point Mallard. Josh Hamilton picked up the assist. Point Mallard additionally got points from Hamilton, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Point Mallard also had goals scored by Jake Cox and Austin Weber, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Point Mallard were Grant Dukus, Justin Dunn, and Justin Delisle, who contributed one each.

Adam Conkling rejected 45 shots on goal for Evansville. Evansville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Point Mallard incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
