Huge game by Kelly boosts Yellowstone over Bozeman, 5-2

Reed Kelly had two goals and two assists to lead Yellowstone to a 5-2 victory over Bozeman.

Kelly scored at 3:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Yellowstone and again while on the power play 5:50 into the third to make the score 3-2 Yellowstone.

Yellowstone's offense rang up 44 shots on Bozeman's net.

Yellowstone also got points from Will Landsverk, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Yellowstone included Drew Nelson and Tony Dahlberg, who scored one goal each. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Hunter Ruschmeyer, Max Doner, Nick Greene, Nick Pizzey, and Matt Runyon, who contributed one each.

Bozeman was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 22.0 minutes per game Bozeman had been spending in the box. Bozeman kept Yellowstone's goalie busy throughout the game, and Lance Knudson made 35 saves on 37 shots.

Bozeman was helped by AJ ODell, who grabbed one goal. ODell scored 6:59 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Kegan Couture picked up the assist. Bozeman also got a goal from Elliott Hopkins as well. More assists for Bozeman came via Gunnar Mogck, who had one.

Yellowstone totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Stephen Frank recorded 39 saves for Bozeman. Bozeman registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
