North Iowa blows out Rochester, 7-2

North Iowa had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over Rochester.

North Iowa forced Rochester goalie Zach Mains to work between the pipes, taking 54 shots. North Iowa's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

North Iowa was helped by Brett Gravelle, who finished with one goal and one assist. Gravelle scored on the power play 7:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa. North Iowa had gained a power play chance when Spencer Hadacek was whistled for slashing. Joe Burgmeier picked up the assist. North Iowa additionally got points from Jeff Solow, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Sean Mallonee, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for North Iowa included Adam Orn, Austin Jackson, Quinn Fuchs, and Riley Meyer, who each put in one. More assists for North Iowa came via Tommy Hall, who had two and Eric Piatt, Kohei Sato, Mitch Parsons, Marshall Barnes, and Carmen Dalesandro, who each chipped in one.

Rochester was helped by Trey McMillen, who registered one goal. McMillen scored 18:27 into the second period to make the score 4-2 North Iowa. Dominik Bogdzuil assisted on the tally. Rochester also got a goal from Nick Paulson as well. In addition, Rochester received assists from Hunter Heightland, who had one and Vladislav Shipota, who had two.

David Johnson made 24 saves for North Iowa on 26 shots. North Iowa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Rochester's Mains stopped 47 shots out of the 54 that he faced. Rochester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
