Weber's goals lift Point Mallard to 7-4 victory over Evansville

Austin Weber had four goals to lead Point Mallard to a 7-4 victory over Evansville.

Weber notched his first tally 9:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:27 into the first, at 5:21 into the second, and at 17:27 into the second.

Point Mallard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Point Mallard forced Evansville goalie Brian Forness to work between the pipes, taking 56 shots. Point Mallard bested its season scoring average. Point Mallard has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Others who scored for Point Mallard included Josh Hamilton, Nicholas Strom, and Justin Clark, who each put in one. More assists for Point Mallard came via Justin Dunn, who had three, Grant Dukus, who had five, and Jake Cox, Stephen Coulter, Justin Delisle, and Jaleel Rosemond, who each chipped in one.

Evansville kept Point Mallard's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cooper Seedott made 34 saves on 38 shots.

Evansville was led by Jon Grimm, who had one goal and two assists. Grimm scored 15:41 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Point Mallard. Triston Theriot picked up the assist. Evansville additionally got points from Theriot, who also registered one goal and one assist and Michael Kelley, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brandon Rozema also scored for Evansville. In addition, Evansville received assists from Ian Blaeser, Brandon Bornkamp, and William Bonser, who contributed one each.

Point Mallard incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brian Forness made 49 saves for Evansville on 56 shots. Evansville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
