Breezy Point survived a determined comeback attempt by West Michigan on the way to a 3-1 win.

Breezy Point made the score 3-0 on a goal by Josh Laven at 18:00 in the second period, and West Michigan got as close as 3-1 when Chase Whallon scored 15:07 into the third period.

Laven had two goals to lead Breezy Point to victory.

Breezy Point forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. Breezy Point had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game. Breezy Point's offense rang up 36 shots on West Michigan's net.
