Great Falls falls to Toledo in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Toledo pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over Great Falls on a clutch goal by Nick Papandrea.

Although Toledo was up by as many as two goals in the second period, Great Falls kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. Great Falls pulled to within 2-1 on a goal by Blake Miller at 5:20 in the third period.

Toledo was paced by Papandrea, who tallied one goal. Papandrea scored 2:43 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Toledo. Tyler Zalecki picked up the assist.

Toledo stifled Great Falls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Toledo forced Great Falls goalie Jake Stephan to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Toledo also had goals scored by Isaiah Crawford and Daniel Goodwin, who scored one goal each. In addition, Toledo received assists from Ricky Kwapich, who had two and Darryl Kuchcinski, Nikolas Verbosky, and Tristin Snyder, who contributed one each.

Great Falls excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Great Falls was held below its usual level of production. Great Falls puts an average of 4.4 pucks into the net per game. Great Falls' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Great Falls was helped by Connor Barta, who finished with one goal. Barta scored 16:34 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Tyler Garcia assisted on the tally. More assists for Great Falls came via Stevan Goran, who had one.
