Metro rips Billings, 9-0

Metro had a six-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-0 win over Billings.

Metro was sparked by Graham Day, who racked up one goal. Day scored 15:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro. Stefan Boskovic picked up the assist.

Metro put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Billings to score on any of its four power plays. Metro's defense was surprisingly good. Metro averages 2.1 goals allowed per game. Metro's offense rang up 47 shots on Billings' net. Metro bested its season scoring average. Metro averages 4.8 goals per game.

Metro also got points from Michael Tratar, who also registered two goals and one assist, Jacob Drinkard, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Kevin Shand, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Metro included Cam Schwartz, Dylan Naumovski, Jason Newel, and Matt Dempsey, who scored one goal each. In addition, Metro received assists from Spencer Graham, who had two, Mathias Tellstrom, who had four, and Mark Vansaw, Marc Schwartz, Devin Kelly, and Jason Recchia, who each chipped in one.

Austin Kane made 23 saves for Metro on 23 shots. Metro incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Billings' Brandon Brown stopped 38 shots out of the 47 that he faced. Billings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
