Huge game by Block boosts West Michigan over Twin City, 6-3

Brendon Block had two goals and two assists to lead West Michigan to a 6-3 victory over Twin City.

Block found the back of the net 1:23 into the second period to make the score 2-0 West Michigan and again while on the power play 13:42 into the second to make the score 4-1 West Michigan.

Twin City's power play was ineffective against West Michigan's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

West Michigan's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Twin City power plays. West Michigan found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. West Michigan has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

West Michigan additionally got points from Dakota Ulmer, who also had one goal and two assists. West Michigan also had goals scored by Connor Henderson, Chase Whallon, and Corey Siwula, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for West Michigan were Curtis Carlson, who had two.

Twin City forced West Michigan goalie Joe Licata to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Twin City was led by Fritz Belisle, who registered one goal. Belisle scored 2:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 West Michigan. Paul Stehr assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Twin City included Alex Egle and Yannick Zehnder, who scored one goal each. In addition, Twin City received assists from Zak Lambrecht, Brenden Russ, Nicholas Campbell, and Joe Costello, who contributed one each.

Licata rejected 28 shots on goal for West Michigan. West Michigan incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Nathan Siclovan made 22 saves for Twin City on 28 shots. Twin City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
