Metro's Distelrath deadly on offense in 6-2 win against Wooster

Chas Distelrath was all over the ice for Metro, as he tallied two goals in Metro's 6-2 win over Wooster.

Distelrath's tallies came at 3:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro and 29 seconds into the second to make the score 3-1 Metro.

Wooster's power play was ineffective against Metro's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Metro's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 24.0 minutes per game Metro had been spending in the box. Metro stifled Wooster's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Metro forced Wooster goalie Joe Morgan to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots.

Metro also had goals scored by Chase Sereno, who had two and Michael Tratar, Jacob Drinkard, and Jason Newel, who scored one goal each. In addition, Metro received assists from Dylan Naumovski, who had two, Pearce Vance, who had three, and Robert Flannery, Devin Kelly, Jacob Rutkoske, Jason Recchia, Matt Dempsey, Graham Day, and Kevin Shand, who each chipped in one.

Wooster was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Wooster surpassed its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. Wooster excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

Wooster was helped by Nick Tobey, who registered one goal. Tobey scored 5:45 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Metro. Andy Romani picked up the assist. Mike Zenone also scored for Wooster. More assists for Wooster came via Tyler Groth, Will Schober, and Noah Oblak, who contributed one each.

Kameron Limburg rejected 20 shots on goal for Metro. Joe Morgan made 43 saves for Wooster on 49 shots.
