Peoria blows out Evansville, 4-1

Peoria had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over Evansville.

Thomas Kolaz was all over the ice for Peoria, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Kolaz scored short handed 17:41 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. Peoria was on a disadvantage when Jacob Coovert went off the ice for roughing.

Peoria's penalty kill excelled, as Peoria gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Peoria stifled Evansville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Peoria's offense rang up 37 shots on Evansville's net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Peoria also got points from Jiri Trubacik, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Peoria also had goals scored by Jack Power Wayvon and Mark Candotti, who scored one goal each. In addition, Peoria received assists from Andrej Buchko, who had two.

Evansville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Evansville was led by Jon Grimm, who scored the team's only goal. Grimm scored 31 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Evansville. Brandon Bornkamp provided the assist.

Ross Lipic rejected 24 shots on goal for Peoria. Peoria incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Adam Conkling made 33 saves for Evansville on 37 shots. Evansville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Nikles was ejected from the game.
