Blassic leads Helena over Billings, 6-2

Behind a great game by Matt Blassic, who had two goals and one assist, Helena defeated Billings, 6-2.

Blassic scored at 10:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena and again while 11:16 into the third to make the score 6-2 Helena.

Billings was unable to stop Helena from sending pucks towards the net, and Helena eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Helena bested its season scoring average. Helena has scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Helena also got points from Wyatt Stotts, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Jay Forbes, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Riley Keays, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brandon Mills also scored for Helena. In addition, Helena received assists from Cody Vanthournout, who had two and Brian Kaes and Gavin Lubin, who contributed one each.

Billings forced Helena goalie Adam Ranck to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Billings was helped by Mason Graves, who racked up one goal and one assist. Graves scored on the power play 8:15 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Helena. A roughing penalty on Ranck had put Billings on the power play. Chris Nicolai picked up the assist. Billings additionally got points from Tristan Henrichs, who also had one goal and one assist.

Adam Ranck made 38 saves for Helena on 40 shots. Helena incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Gage Overby rejected 36 shots on goal for Billings. Billings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
