Wooster wins tough contest against Pittsburgh, 5-4

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Wooster escaped with a 5-4 victory over Pittsburgh.

Wooster gained the winning advantage on a goal by Brad Sneed 17:17 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

In the losing effort, Pittsburgh was led by Vincent Casale, who registered two goals. Casale scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 22 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pittsburgh. Brian Dee picked up the assist. Casale's next tally on the power play made the score 4-4 with 7:57 left in the third period. Pittsburgh earned a power play opportunity when Sneed was put in the box for cross checking. Adam Schaffer provided the assist.

In the losing effort, Pittsburgh was led by Casale, who grabbed two goals.

Wooster also got points from Will Schober, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Wooster also had goals scored by Trenton Mulnix, Rubin Chavarria, and Tyler Houmard, who each put in one. More assists for Wooster came via Ramsey Mayne, Mike Zenone, Nick Tobey, Zach Bilius, and Brandon Scholze, who contributed one each and Tyler Crites and Tyler Groth, who each chipped in two.

Pittsburgh forced Wooster goalie Joe Morgan to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Others who scored for Pittsburgh included Dominick Glavach and Gavin Cummings, who scored one goal each. In addition, Pittsburgh received assists from Camron Smith, James Unger, Ryker Barber, Justin Shepherd, and Anthony Szurlej, who contributed one each.

Joe Morgan made 27 saves for Wooster on 31 shots. Wooster incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jacob Stack recorded 18 saves for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
