La Crosse had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over Rochester. Rochester was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as La Crosse was able to score four times while on the power play. La Crosse was led by Ben Johnson, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Johnson scored on the power play 16 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 La Crosse.
