Glacier could not stop Yellowstone's Nicholas Elliot, who tallied a hat trick in a 13-2 win.

Elliot got on the scoresheet 3:16 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:58 into the second and at 15:17 into the third.

Glacier trailed by one after the first period, but Yellowstone went into the second intermission with a 7-2 lead and never looked back.

Glacier's 17 penalties came back to haunt it, as Glacier let up six goals while on the penalty kill.

Yellowstone forced Glacier's netminders to work without much rest, racking up 69 shots and forcing 56 saves. Mikhail Pahrebets made 35 stops and Raymond Smith made 21. Yellowstone put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Glacier to score on any of its eight power plays. Yellowstone's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, Yellowstone averages 4.3 goals per contest. Yellowstone got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Yellowstone additionally got points from Cosimo Yapello, who also racked up one goal and three assists, Vadym Nesteruk, who also registered one goal and one assist, Nick Greene, who also had one goal and two assists, Reed Kelly, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Jake Dickison, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Matt Runyon, who also registered one goal and one assist. Max Doner also scored for Yellowstone. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Hunter Ruschmeyer, who had four and Drew Nelson, Will Landsverk, Tanner Knudson, Manuel Manero, and Nick Ligocki, who contributed one each.

Glacier forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 16 minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. Glacier surpassed its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game.

Glacier was helped by Collin Schieman, who had one goal. Schieman scored 6:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brandon Huntington picked up the assist.
