A seven-goal first period deficit cost Chicago, which could not recover and fell to Peoria, 14-3. Peoria got the win with help from a great game by Zach Cox, who had two goals and two assists. Cox scored the first of his two goals at 7:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria. Thomas Kolaz picked up the assist. Cox's next tally made the score 2-0 Peoria with 10:36 left in the first period. Andrej Buchko provided the assist. Peoria forced Chicago's goalies to work in net, getting 61 shots and forcing 47 saves. Ryall Purdy made 35 stops and Sergey Markelov made 12. Peoria surpassed its usual scoring output this season.
