In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Point Mallard escaped with a 5-3 victory over Evansville.

Point Mallard gained the winning advantage on a goal by Jake Champaign 15:07 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Champaign had a great game for Point Mallard, netting two goals.

Point Mallard put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Evansville to score on any of its three power plays. Point Mallard kept Evansville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Conkling made 58 saves on 63 shots.

Point Mallard additionally got points from Jake Cox, who also registered one goal and one assist, Josh Hamilton, who also racked up one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, and Matt Goodman, who also tallied one goal and one assist.
