Metro uses early goal to top West Michigan, 2-0

Michael Tratar gave Metro the lead in the first period, and West Michigan was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

Metro took over the lead for good with a goal by Tratar at 7:17 in the first period. Mathias Tellstrom provided the assist.

Metro was led by Tratar, who had one goal and one assist.

Metro was held below its usual level of production. Metro puts an average of 5.0 pucks into the net per game. Metro's defensive play was more effective than usual against West Michigan. Metro allows 2.2 goals per game. West Michigan was unable to stop Metro from sending pucks towards the net, and Metro eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Metro also got points from Tellstrom, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Metro received assists from Jason Recchia and Kevin Shand, who each chipped in one.
