In a game where neither team could get a cushion, La Crosse escaped with a 4-2 victory over Minnesota.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Dylan Goggin secured the win for La Crosse with a goal in the third period.

La Crosse was led by Goggin, who racked up one goal and one assist. Goggin scored 17:44 into the third period to make the score 3-2 La Crosse. Jerame Schuetzle assisted on the tally.

La Crosse also got points from Schuetzle, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for La Crosse included Alexander Rickoff and Ben Henderson, who scored one goal each. In addition, La Crosse received assists from Hunter Dolan, who had two and JP Eykyn and Jared Bromberg, who each chipped in one.

Minnesota excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Minnesota got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Minnesota was helped by Luke Erickson, who registered one goal. Erickson scored 13:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Minnesota. Ryan Conybear picked up the assist. La Crosse's Will Graves stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. La Crosse incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Quinn Huff made 21 saves for Minnesota on 24 shots. Minnesota incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
