Reed Kelly was all over the ice for Yellowstone, as he tallied two goals in Yellowstone's 4-1 win over Billings. Kelly found the back of the net 14:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Yellowstone and again while 18:28 into the third to make the score 3-1 Yellowstone.Yellowstone was led by goalie Lance Knudson, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Knudson certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.46 entering the contest. Yellowstone excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Yellowstone forced Billings goalie Gage Overby to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. Yellowstone also got points from Max Doner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Yellowstone also got a goal from Curtis Greenbush as well. Other players who recorded assists for Yellowstone were Nick Green, who had two and Hunter Ruschmeyer, Nicholas Elliot, Manuel Manero, and Nick Ligocki, who each chipped in one. Billings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Yellowstone to score on any of its five power plays. Billings was led by Mason Graves, who scored the team's only goal. Graves scored 43 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Yellowstone incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Gage Overby made 42 saves for Billings on 44 shots. Billings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
