Orem's goals lift Nashville to 4-1 victory over Peoria

Nashville relied on the scoring touch of Logan Orem, who netted two goals, to beat Peoria, 4-1.

Orem's tallies came short handed at 2:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nashville and 5:34 into the second to make the score 2-1 Nashville.

Nashville was led by goalie Ricky Gonzalez, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Gonzalez certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.26 entering the contest.

Nashville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Peoria power plays.

Others who scored for Nashville included William Garrity and Michael Redmon, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Nashville were Trent Kulczyk, who had one and Kyle Van Wyk, who had two.

Peoria stifled Nashville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Peoria was held below its usual level of production. Peoria averages 3.6 goals per game.

Peoria was led by Zach Cox, who scored the team's only goal. Cox scored 4:57 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Michael Butera assisted on the tally.

Nashville totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. For Nashville, Jesse Hyde was ejected from the game. Nic Piech rejected 26 shots on goal for Peoria. Peoria ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Peoria ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jason Hoehn was ejected from the game.
