West Michigan's Corey Siwula scored 1:06 into overtime to beat Toledo, 5-4 (OT).

West Michigan forced Toledo's goalies to work without much rest, launching 40 shots and forcing 35 saves. Glen Bates made 27 stops and Jeremy Hamerquist made eight. The defensemen of West Michigan were also effective in Toledo's zone, and came away with two goals.

West Michigan also got points from Chase Whallon, who also registered one goal and one assist. West Michigan also had goals scored by Connor Henderson and Dakota Ulmer, who scored one goal each. In addition, West Michigan received assists from Mitch Kalleward, Ryan Price, John Hayward, Trevor Temple, Brendon Block, Nathan Rieman, and Joe Zottola, who contributed one each.

Toledo kept West Michigan's goalie busy throughout the game, and Joe Licata made 33 saves on 37 shots.

Toledo was led by Ricky Kwapich, who racked up three goals and one assist. Toledo additionally got points from Josh Somers, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Toledo were Isaiah Crawford, Tyler Zalecki, and Austin Turner, who each chipped in two.

West Michigan incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Toledo incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
