North Iowa rips Wisconsin, 8-0

North Iowa had a seven-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-0 win over Wisconsin.

Brett Gravelle was all over the ice for North Iowa, as he registered two goals in the win. Gravelle scored on the power play at 1:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa and again while on the power play 16:09 into the second to make the score 7-0 North Iowa.

North Iowa forced Wisconsin's goalies to work all game long, firing 38 shots and forcing 30 saves. Max McConnell made 24 stops and Roni Sener made six. North Iowa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. North Iowa's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

North Iowa additionally got points from Kohei Sato, who also racked up two goals and one assist and Tommy Stang, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for North Iowa included Jeff Solow, Adam Orn, and Riley Meyer, who each put in one. More assists for North Iowa came via David Min, who had three, Eric Piatt, Austin Jackson, Mitch Parsons, and Carmen Dalesandro, who contributed one each, and Alec Nichols, Jack Stang, and Marshall Barnes, who each chipped in two.

Wisconsin did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Wisconsin puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game.

Tommi Ahlgren made 17 saves for North Iowa on 17 shots. North Iowa incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Wisconsin incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
