Minnesota beats Twin City 5-3 after comeback scare

Twin City tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Minnesota held on for a 5-3 victory.

A goal by Alec Skar put Minnesota up 5-2 in the third period, but Twin City pulled to within two on Tom Reilly's tally 14:25 into the third period.

Skar had a great game for Minnesota, netting two goals.

Minnesota additionally got points from Kyle Wendorf, who also registered one goal and one assist and Ty Ennis, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Tyler Leverty also scored for Minnesota. More assists for Minnesota came via Tre Opack, who had two and Wyatt Toll, Riley Scanlon, and Lucas Mutschelknaus, who each chipped in one.

Twin City forced Minnesota goalie Quinn Huff to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Twin City also got a goal from Marc Sahli as well. Other players who recorded assists for Twin City were Zak Lambrecht and Ryan Hartzell, who contributed one each and Kyle Wagner and Jared Erickson, who each chipped in two.

Quinn Huff made 41 saves for Minnesota on 44 shots. Minnesota incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Minnesota ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Opack was ejected from the game. Jon Albers made one save before being replaced by Gunnar Howg, who took the loss and made 10 saves. Twin City incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
