Yellowstone had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-2 win over Billings.

Yellowstone got the win on the strength of a great game by Nick Green, who had one goal and two assists. Green scored 10:12 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Yellowstone. Mason Stewart provided the assist.

Yellowstone pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 27 penalty minutes.

Yellowstone forced Billings' netminders to work all game long, ripping 43 shots and forcing 34 saves. Brandon Brown made 14 stops and Gage Overby made 20. Yellowstone bested its season scoring average. This season, Yellowstone averages 3.9 goals per contest. Yellowstone was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play.

Yellowstone additionally got points from Curtis Greenbush, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Tony Dahlberg, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Manuel Manero, who also had one goal and one assist. Yellowstone also got a goal from Max Doner as well. More assists for Yellowstone came via Lance Knudson, Cosimo Yapello, Vadym Nesteruk, Tanner Vincent, and Nick Ligocki, who each chipped in one and Hunter Ruschmeyer and Justin Berezinski, who contributed two each.

Billings forced Yellowstone's goalies to work in net, launching 39 shots and forcing 37 saves. Knudson made 22 stops and Evan Eriksmoen made 15.

Billings was led by Tristan Henrichs, who registered one goal. Henrichs scored on the power play 1:22 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Yellowstone. Billings earned a power play opportunity when Nicholas Elliot was put in the box for boarding. Connor Melton picked up the assist. Jacob Yoho also scored for Billings. Other players who recorded assists for Billings were Roy Aharonovich, Jeremy Vandekerkhove, and Edward Hoppmann, who each chipped in one.

Billings totaled 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 1-for-6 on the power play.
