Metro survives penalties, beats Toledo, 3-1

Despite having to fight off several power plays, Metro was able to defeat Toledo, 3-1.

Metro was paced by Jason Recchia, who registered one goal. Recchia scored 7:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Metro. Michael Tratar provided the assist.

Metro excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Metro forced Toledo goalie Glen Bates to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Metro also had goals scored by Jacob Drinkard and Chas Distelrath, who scored one goal each. In addition, Metro received assists from Pearce Vance, Robert Flannery, Dylan Naumovski, Chase Sereno, and Jacob Rutkoske, who each chipped in one.

Toledo stifled Metro's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Toledo did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Toledo averages 3.6 goals per game.

Toledo was led by Tristin Snyder, who scored the team's only goal. Snyder scored 8:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toledo.

Michael Latorella recorded 22 saves for Metro. Metro incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Toledo's Bates stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Toledo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
