Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Peoria defeated Cincinnati in a shootout 2-1 (2-1 SO). The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. Cincinnati got a shootout goal from Albert Janele. In addition to the clincher, Peoria got a shootout goal from Chance Homerin.Peoria's penalty kill excelled, as Peoria gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.
