Pittsburgh holds on for 3-2 win against Wooster

Pittsburgh survived a determined comeback attempt by Wooster on the way to a 3-2 win.

Pittsburgh made the score 3-0 on a goal by Ryker Barber at 5:39 in the third period, and Wooster got as close as 3-2 when Mike Zenone scored 9:13 into the third period.

Connor Ackerman had a great game for Pittsburgh, netting two goals. Ackerman found the back of the net 16:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pittsburgh and again while short handed 19:56 into the second to make the score 2-0 Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh's offense rang up 32 shots on Wooster's net.

Other players who recorded assists for Pittsburgh were Vincent Casale and Gavin Cummings, who contributed one each.

Wooster's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pittsburgh power plays. Wooster kept Pittsburgh's goalie busy throughout the game, and Marcus Gloss made 42 saves on 44 shots.

Wooster was helped by Christian Miller, who tallied one goal. Miller scored 7:23 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Pittsburgh. Brad Sneed assisted on the tally. More assists for Wooster came via Mike Ragone, who had one.

Pittsburgh incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Wooster's Joe Morgan stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Wooster incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
