Dakota Ulmer gave West Michigan a 5-4 (OT) victory over Metro when he scored 24 seconds into the extra period. West Michigan came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. West Michigan trailed 3-1 after a goal by Metro's Mathias Tellstrom at 19:57 in the first period. West Michigan knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Kevin Shand at 5:42 in the third period. West Michigan excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. West Michigan forced Metro goalie Kameron Limburg to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. West Michigan also got points from Corey Siwula, who also registered one goal and two assists. Chase Whallon also scored for West Michigan. Other players who recorded assists for West Michigan were Brendon Block, who had three and Ryan Price, John Hayward, and Devin Farkas, who contributed one each. West Michigan was unable to stop Metro from sending pucks towards the net, and Metro eventually piled up 49 shots on goal. Metro gave up more goals than its normal season average.
