Point Mallard uses fast start to beat Louisiana, 8-0

Point Mallard opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to an 8-0 win over Louisiana.

Stephen Coulter had a great game for Point Mallard, netting two goals. Coulter found the back of the net on the power play 6:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Point Mallard and again while on the power play 5:15 into the third to make the score 8-0 Point Mallard.

Point Mallard excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Point Mallard featured an improved defense during the game. Point Mallard gives up 2.5 goals on average per game. Point Mallard's offense rang up 60 shots on Louisiana's net. Point Mallard's goal total was higher than its season average. Point Mallard averages 4.9 goals per game. Point Mallard's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

Point Mallard additionally got points from Justin Dunn, who also grabbed one goal and two assists.
